When Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati visited this region, kheer appeared out of nowhere, according to the second legend. This kheer was turned into water by Parvati Ji. Because of this, the water has a greyish colour and a milky complexion.

Kheerganga trek experience and Tips
1. Instead of buying bottled water while in Kheerganga, you can keep your supply of safe drinking water by refilling your bottle at the natural springs of Ashram. You can also fill your bottles at various rest stops along the way, such as the waterfall.
2. If you are a beginner, it is a good idea to prepare for the trek by beginning to exercise ahead of time. Yoga would also be a good idea to prepare your lungs for the high altitudes.
3. Because the Kheerganga Trek is located at a lower elevation of 2950 m, the chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness are lower. However, it is always better to be safe than sorry, so it is recommended that you take a sufficient number of breaks on your ascent from Barshaini to Kheerganga.
4. Kheerganga Trekking is a physically demanding adventure that requires a lot of energy. It is thus preferable to be prepared and to bring ready-to-eat food with you, with a focus on sugar-filled items for energy. Energy bars, candies, chikki, and plum cakes are excellent choices.
5. At high altitudes, internet and network connectivity can become extremely unreliable. Before embarking on this adventurous trek to Kheerganga, it is best to notify concerned friends and relatives.
