As
far as we can tell, the Buran Ghati walk combines all of the attractions of a
difficult climb with an exhilarating mountain crossing in a moderate hike. The
scenery changes frequently, and most days are easy-moderate in difficulty, with
the exception of the pass day. If you're looking for a summer or autumn trek,
Buran Ghati is the place to go.
Along the walk, you will see the most unique and
sparkling flower world. Pears, apples, peaches, apricots, and other winter
fruits grow abundantly in this region.
It's easy to pick it straight from the plant and eat it on the go; it's a
terrific travelling snack.
The ascent rewards you with a panoramic view of the Kinner-Kailash
peaks as well as the undeniable beauty of the Dhauladar range.
The nicest portion of the walk begins once you've reached the summit point, passing
through breathtaking views of nature and picturesque communities.
At
an elevation of 15,000 feet, there is a fantastic 400-meter ice wall plunge
followed by six long snow slides that will undoubtedly bring out the child in
you. There are also sections where you'll have to get a little more technical
and utilise ropes to go down against gravity. The descent will provide you with
an adventure of a lifetime while also removing all of the weariness from the
ascent in one fell swoop.

The
journey begins at the ancient village of Janglik, which is similar to the old,
“untouched by civilization” settlements found on the Har Ki Dun trek. The trail
climbs out of Janglik and into a lush forest before bursting into the Dayara
meadows. Most hikers come to a halt here, their jaws agape in awe of the beauty
of Dayara Meadows.
Buran Ghati has wonderfully lovely trails that can be
visited all year, however, due to the trail's many muddy
portions, it's difficult to traverse them in the rain because they become too
slippery and muddy. Apart from the monsoon months, the months of May and
mid-June are ideal for combining cold with nice sun rays. After the last week
of June, the region will experience considerable snowfall, which will linger
until late October, turning the lush meadows completely white. The snow, on the
other hand, makes the final section of the ascent difficult and time-consuming
to complete.
You would think the meadows are over when you leave Dayara, but you couldn't be more wrong. Forests and meadows abound on the Litham route. There's also the Dunda. Dunda is one of the best campsites for experiencing the grandeur of an alpine mountain zone while also anticipating a spectacular climb ahead.
Rohru
is the last bit of urban civilisation you'll find, along with a variety of
medical and ATM services. The next stop, Janglik, offers extremely modest
medical facilities but no technological shops. You can occasionally find
evidence of mobile networks for BSNL, Vodafone, Airtel, and Idea in the Janglik
region. As you progress further up the trail, most of the signals become
weaker, but Airtel service is available at some points in Lithum camp.
Following this, the next location where you will receive any type of network
will be Barua, which is the trek's final part.
A Grand Buffet Of The Greatest Himalayan Treks
Every trek has areas that are breathtakingly gorgeous. Every trek has sections that aren't flawless, and we're not ashamed to state it. When hiking the Buranghati trail, these flaws can be difficult to see.
This journey is unrivalled. It's almost as if someone combined the best parts of our
Himalayan hikes into one seamless journey.
Janglik,
a historic town reminiscent of the is the starting point for the trek. Before reaching Dayara
meadows, the trail climbs out of Janglik and traverses a magnificent woodland.
Many hikers come to a halt here to gaze in awe at the Dayara meadows.
Dayara is a place where the
meadows are expected to be finished. Litham's route is densely forested with
meadows. Then there's the Dunda. Dunda is a campsite that can provide you with
both the grandeur of the alpine highlands and the thrill of a magnificent
climb, while Barua, on the other side of the pass, is an old lovely settlement
that will remind you of Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings. Old houses,
fruit-bearing trees, and alleyways can be found here.
The
Buran Ghati trek is a moderately demanding hike with an exciting pass crossing.
The scenery changes frequently, and the bulk of the days are easy to moderate
in difficulty. Buran Ghati is an excellent option for a fall or summer trip.
Highlights of the trek
Meadows of
DayaraBugyal:
Throughout
the day, you will be walking through the thick, dense green forest with no idea
what to anticipate, and then the enormous green meadow will greet you with its
stunning panorama of snow-capped mountains and gorgeous wildflowers.
One
of my favourite sections is Dayara Meadows. Trekkers, I'm sure, will agree. As
you rise out of the dense coniferous trees, you first view it from a high
ledge. Right in front of you is a wide expanse of table land cut out of the
side of a mountain.
The
greenside rises up the mountainsides, while the other side descends the
cliffs into the canyons below. There is a huge green stretch between them where
horses can gallop.
I
couldn't believe we'd be camping in such stunning locations. Even on Day 1,
this was the case. When comparing meadows from other amazing treks, Dayara
meadows are my favourite.

Snow Slides and the Buran Ghati Wall
The hike is strenuous and takes you up to 15,000 feet in elevation. Rappelling down
from the other side of Buran Ghati and reaching the summit of Buran Ghati is a
thrilling experience.
Buran
Ghati is a well-known wall. It has to be the world's highest rappelling point!
Because you can slide down multiple snow chutes at Buran Ghati, it's a
fantastic adventure. For trekkers, this adventure is a must-see. Buran Ghati is
also on my bucket list of places to see.
Chandernahanlake:
Many
locals regard this lake as sacred; there is a fabled storey surrounding this
lake; locals think that Lord Shiva's moon dips into this lake, hence the name
Chandernahan Lake; this lake is also the source of the Pabbar River.
The side trip to Chandranahan Lake is underappreciated, in my opinion. It was more delightful than traversing the Buran Ghati. Once you reach the snout of Chandranahan Falls, you will be transported to an alpine environment. At high altitudes, this valley is small and snowy.
Snow-capped mountains surround you on all sides. The Pabbarriver can still be seen. To go to the valley's heart, you will need to cross beautiful ledges after another. For the visual delight, the journey and setting are still a part of my memories
Rappelling
on snow wall:
This
is the most thrilling and exciting phase of the walk, as well as the most
difficult. This section will undoubtedly provide an adrenaline boost since you
will be rappelling down a 400-meter-high snow wall.
It's
a high-altitude hike that reaches 15,000 feet, putting it in the high-adventure
category. I'll never forget the thrill of climbing to the top of the Buran
Ghati and then rappelling down the other side.
Buran
Ghati's wall is now well-known. It has to be the highest rappelling point on
the planet! Buran Ghati is made even better by the fact that you can slide down
many snow chutes thereafter. This trek will appeal to hikers. Buran Ghati is
also on my bucket list of things to do.
Village of Janglik, Barua
Best time to visit Buran Ghati trek
The Buddhist flag may be seen outside the wooden cottages of Barua hamlet, which is located in the Kinnaur area of Himachal Pradesh. The cultivated lands and numerous fruit trees can be found here.
It's
incredible how we can drive up to the higher village and then slow down to
examine the culture till we reach the village's foot, about a thousand feet
below! Pay close attention to the architecture, the people, and the temple in
particular. There are numerous fruit trees on the property.
The journey gets arduous and dangerous during the rainy season. Because the track
might be treacherous and the roads are in poor condition due to excessive rain
during this season, and because you shouldn't take any chances at such a high
altitude, the best and safest months to do this journey are April, May to
mid-June, September, and October.
April-June
– The temperature in Pabbar valley is good in April and May when you can see
the best panoramic splendour of the Kinnaur–Garhwal Himalayan peaks, and the
weather remains stable. The sky is clear with low clouds, the views of the
mountain range, valley, and hills are clear and brilliant, and everything
appears beautiful. During this season, the famed wildflower rhododendron
blooms. There is a lot of snow on the trail during the month of June.
October
to September — The snow melts in September, making climbing easier, and the sky
is beautiful, with no clouds even at night, making September a popular month
for astrophotography. There is a very slim possibility of rain. The temperature
drops below 0 degrees Celsius at night, so bring warm clothing.

Lake, as it's important for your body to become adjusted to this atmosphere
because it's not the norm. It'll be an interesting and rewarding trek, and the
lake is breathtaking. You'll be able to take a lot of pictures along the shore
of Chandranahan Lake, as it's a beautiful spot, and then continue trekking

Ghati on your left. Spend some time at this location to capture some stunning

entire amazing scene will be spine-tingling.

hrs
Water sources: Carry

Steep ascent and descent

on the sixth day will be difficult because there will be both ascending and

to the base of Buran Ghati pass.
It
will take over an hour to go from the base to the summit of the Buran Ghati
pass and most of the hike will be on snow, so be cautious when walking.
Buran Ghati is about 15,000 feet in elevation, and it will be an exciting
climb. There will be a tiny ledge at the top and the drop on the other side
will be sharp and steep, making the descent unsafe and difficult without a
rope.
You'll
be in the snowfield below the pass, and then there will be a number of series
over the smaller ledge that you'll descend by sliding. After all of the
