What is the best time to visit Roopkund Trek?

There are primarily two occasions when the Roopkund Trek is available. The first is from May to June in the summer, and the second is from September to mid-October in the fall. If you want to see snow, we recommend going during the summer months because you can still see traces of it, especially near the lake. However, the Bugyals are especially beautiful in the post-monsoon months of September and October, when they are lush with vegetation and flowering. The rainy season should always be avoided because it makes the trails slick, which can lead to accidents. So, based on your interests, pick a time. The Roopkund trip has long been a favourite among people looking to escape the summer heat.

Roopkund Weather:

It is critical to research the weather before travelling to a new location. This will assist you in deciding when you want to travel on your adventure. Because the Roopkund journey is at such a high altitude, you should expect to encounter cold weather.

Trekkers flock to the area during the summer season, which runs from April through June. The temperature is good during the day, but it can be chilly at night, so visitors should prepare appropriately when preparing for the hike. It's advisable to avoid the months of July and August because there's a lot of rain and the weather isn't conducive to hiking. The top half of the trek is still covered with snow at this time.

The autumn months of September and October are the next best time to visit Rookund. The temperature is cold, but the water hasn't frozen yet, revealing the skeletons that are present. The weather is nicer in the fall, and there are fewer people around.

Roopkund Temperature:

Knowing the temperature of a location aids in deciding what items to bring with them. If you're going on a walk to Roopkund, make sure you have adequate warm clothing because it gets chilly at night.

During the summer months of May and June, the temperature can range from 18 degrees Celsius to 12 degrees Celsius during the day, while it can dip to 7 degrees Celsius to -5 degrees Celsius at night.

The average daily temperature in September and October is 20 degrees Celsius to 9 degrees Celsius, with nighttime temperatures ranging from 4 degrees Celsius to -8 degrees Celsius.

During In the winter, the temperature can drop to -26 degrees Celsius at night.

So, here are a few things you should know about the enthralling Roopkund trip, which is famed for its campsites and the incredible experience it offers trekkers. People who are interested in trekking should try it at least once in their lives, according to us.

A great dose of adventure

With a number of steep climbs and slick but enjoyable descents, the Roopkund trek provides just the right amount of adventure. No roller coaster can compare to the adrenaline sensation of walking down a jagged, exposed slope while clinging onto a rope towards Junargali. Although the weather and time of day play a role in this stage of the climb, if you want to be within breathing distance of Mount Trishul and Nanda Ghunti, this is the place to be.
