The

Brighu Lake is a heaven on earth, located in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu districtlake, often known as the "pool of god," attracts a great number of people each year. The lake is surrounded on all sides by snow-capped mountains and sits at an elevation of 4,235 metres above sea level. According to legend, Rishi Bhrigu, a prominent Hindu sage, pondered for a long time at this location. Many gods of the Kullu valley are said to have taken a holy dip in the sacred water, which is why Hindus and many worshippers regard the lake as sacrosanct.
Maharishi Bhrigu, one of Brahma's seven great sages, is the inspiration for Bhrigulake. Maharishi Bhrigu is said to have meditated near this lake, according to legend. As a result, the locals have come to think that the lake never totally freezes, even at such high altitudes where temperatures frequently exceed 0 degrees. For the inhabitants, this lake has taken on a spiritual significance. Best Time For The Bhrigu Lake Trek
Trekking
in Himachal Pradesh is always tough, but because of the
adrenaline rush it provides, it is one of the top objectives for hikers. The trip begins in Manali and is around 11 kilometres long. Manali or Vashist are
two possible destinations for the hike.
From the middle of May to
the middle of October, you can go on the Bhrigu Lake Trek. The optimum time to
go on the hike is before June and after August when the rains are least
likely. During the night, there is a chance of landslides. During the summer,
the temperature ranges between 20 and 25 degrees during the day and 5 to 7
degrees at night.
If you plan to do the Bhrigu
Lake Trek in December, the temperature will be around 10 degrees to 15 degrees
during the day, and significantly lower at night. At night, the temperature
might drop to 0 degrees. The lake has been frozen for nearly half a year. The
scene of snow with the sun beaming on the lake is beautiful. Even if they
travel early in the summer, travellers will be able to enjoy the sight of snow.
Even experienced trekkers
may find winter trekking in the Himalayas difficult. When visiting Bhrigu Lake
in the winter, you should go in December. The region is blanketed in thick
snow, and temperatures have dropped to minus 10 degrees Celsius. Apart from that,
the highest reaches are buried in a thick blanket of snow! The lake of Bhrigu
is inaccessible. As a result, going on a walk in the winter is not a good
idea.
Route Of Bhrigu Lake Trek
To go to RolaKholi, travel
from Manali to Gulaba and then hike uphill. RolaKholi (2050 m) to Gulaba (2600
m) to Manali (2050 m) (3810 m). It's a 7-kilometre hike that takes about 4-5
hours.
Gulaba is a 22-kilometer
drive from Manali and serves as the starting point for the Bhrigu Lake Trek.
Gulaba is located on the Rohtang Pass road. The walk begins in Gulaba and
continues to RolaKholi. After then, it's a tough uphill climb to Bhrigu and
back. The 14-kilometre hike from Rola to Bhrigu Lake and finally to PanduRopa
takes about 7-8 hours.

Bhrigu Lake Trek: Equipment Required
When you trekking, you need to wear proper footwear. You need to wear skid-free, high ankle trekking shoes. They are very important because the shoes should not give any blisters.
Wear quick-drying t-shirts or comfortable clothing. You can wear full sleeves shirts or sweatshirts for trekking.
When you are high up on a mountain, it is your skin that goes dry in no time. Thus, there is a lot of requirements for sunblock creams because they help your skin never go dry. Also, you should consider having a lip balm and face moisturizer.
If you are supposed to bring the trekking gear, then you need to have a rucksack bag with an in-built rain cover. Then, have a day bag pack, head torch/light with extra batteries all the time.
Always carry glucose powder because that can give you instant energy. You can also carry nuts or chocolate bars that are easily carried. Do not bring any suitcases while you are coming to trek.
To See During Bhrigu Lake Trek
Mountaineering
in the Himalayas will always introduce you to a new universe.
When trekking to the destination, keep in mind that Bhrigu Lake is nestled between the ridges of two high-altitude
peaks. As you can see, the lake takes on a variety of shapes. It can turn blue
or green, or it can have ice floating on its service. During the winter months,
it might become entirely frozen.
When visiting during the
monsoon season, the lake will be surrounded by grass and flowers. Even merely
to witness the breathtaking vista of the lake, this hike is worthwhile.
You will go across meadows after you begin walking. Some of the major peaks that you have only heard about in novels can be seen there. When strolling across the grasslands, you will see Ladakhi, Shitidhar, and HanumanTibba. However, after you reach the top, you will witness Indrasen and DeoTibba. The Dhauladhar and PirPanjal ranges can also, be seen when the weather is clear.

How to prepare yourself – some tips
• Fitness- The Bhrigu Lake hike is, to be
honest, physically difficult. Believe me when I say that many people do not
reach their peak due to a lack of fitness. Before you push your body to harsh
conditions, you should give it at least one month of physical preparation. To
increase your stamina, you might begin any training programme or get fitness
equipment. Due to a lack of physical fitness, you will become easily weary and
will not be able to fully enjoy the event.
•
Medical Exam- If you have any major medical conditions
that could jeopardise your safety at high altitudes, this is a must. As a
result, you should have a medical examination to ensure that you are healthy
enough to journey at high altitudes.
•
Medical Kit- You're essentially on your own in the
mountains. As a result, you should have your own first-aid kit and emergency
drugs to deal with unplanned events. Some of these can be purchased at
heal-kit.
•
Be Prepared at All Times- The weather in the mountains is often
fickle. So, whether it's a wet or bright day, you need to be prepared.
•
Keep Yourself Hydrated- Stay hydrated at all times. Here, water
is your best buddy. Make it a point to drink 6-7 litres of water every day.
While trekking, drink 2-3 litres of water, and the rest should be evenly spread
over the rest of the day.
•
Get the correct gear—from shoes to trekking poles, make sure you
have everything you'll need. Trekking poles make a significant difference in
terms of reducing strain and effort. Trekking shoes, coats, and trekking poles
can all be rented from your expedition organisers.
•
Please respect the environment by not littering or
spreading waste in these magnificent locations. You can keep your disposables
in a separate bag.
•
Don't compare yourself to others: trek at your own pace and
abilities. This will allow your body to adjust to the variations in altitude
and avoid difficulties.
